HARP VETERANS WERE AWARDED ON THE OCCASION OF THE 70TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE PLANT

On December, 14 2017 a special meeting of veterans club "PATRIOT" took place in the Palace of Culture HARP.

The event was devoted to the 70th anniversary of Kharkov Bearing Plant foundation.

Valentina Trunina, the chairman of the organization, awarded the veterans with Memorable sign of the plant for many years of conscientious labor, high professionalism and dedication.

Summing up the results of 2017, she noted that according to the collective agreement HARP, veterans can still get material assistance for the treatment and medicines purchasing. This year 40 people used this opportunity. The money is also allocated for the veterans who are in need of special care.

Valentina Trunina also recalled that in 2017 the club celebrated its 30th anniversary and was recognized as the best primary organization of veterans in Industrial district of Kharkov. It was given the Certificate of honor of the Kharkov Regional Council of the Organization of Veterans in Ukraine. "Thanks to the management and trade union committee of the plant that they remember and do not forget about us, provide us with support and assistance in solving our issues", – pointed out Valentina Trunina.

During the event Mikhail Mashkin, who started his career in 1947, shared his memoirs and demonstrated unique commemorative medals, which were released to the 25th and 35th anniversary of HARP.

The meeting participants also discussed the problems that concern the veterans today. They are medical and pension reforms, and therefore there was a suggestion to organize and hold a meeting with the appropriate specialists to explain the difficult points.

More than 40 members of the club attended the meeting. Most of them worked at HARP for 30, 40 and more years. Among them the participants of the Second World War, and the workers who took part in the plant building. The activists and volunteers of the club visited those who could not come to the meeting. They awarded them and greeted.

The performance of the choir singers of Ukrainian song brought joy to the visitors, as a part of the event. 

The next meeting of the veterans is planned for January 11, 2018.
