"Agricultural industry could become a powerhouse of the economic development of Ukraine", – said People's Deputy of Ukraine, Honorary President of the UPEC Industrial Group Anatoliy Girshfeld at the First International Forum of Agricultural Engineering. The event was held on September, 13 at the Ukrainian Research Institute of Forecasting and Testing of Equipment and Technologies for Agricultural Production (UkrNIIPIT) named after L. Pogorelyi (Kiev region).

"The problems existing in the agrarian industry of Ukraine today should become the most relevant and debated topics in our country, not only for farmers, but also for all the state. We should follow the example of how the government of the EU countries supports its agricultural manufacturers and promotes machinery, as well as on our markets. We must make conclusions and create a competitive industry that can work not only in Ukraine, but will be export-oriented. As a People’s Deputy and a representative of the UPEC company, which unites several machine-building enterprises of the Kharkiv region, that has traditionally been a centre of agricultural mechanical engineering of Ukraine, I think it is a very important task, which can really change the economic situation in our country", – said Anatoliy Girshfeld.

Participants of the Round table on topical issues of the development of domestic agricultural engineering and technical modernization also had an opportunity to discuss global trends of agricultural mechanics and technical modernization of agricultural production, to share experiences in support of agricultural manufacturers and engineering in leading countries (role of the state, science and public associations) and to forecast the existing factors of development of the domestic machine-building in Ukraine.

"Around the world there are certain trends in such strategically important sectors as the agricultural sector – precision agriculture, ecology, energy efficiency and many others to be strove. However, it is unlikely that efforts of individual companies will make us competitive to the largest Western companies, supported by the state. The point is not only financial-credit policy, but the general state policy aimed at comprehensive development of the agricultural industry, technology, science, agricultural engineering, and only then the industry really will become the powerhouse of the economic development of the country. Today Ukraine is looking for its place in the global division of labor and this place will affect the lives of many generations that will live in Ukraine. We should properly formulate and announce our idea to the government", – said Anatoliy Girshfeld.

According to the results of the International Forum of Agricultural Engineering Anatoliy Girshfeld held a meeting with the Minister of Agriculture of Ukraine Taras Kutovoy and the Prime Minister of Ukraine Vladimir Groysman in Kiev. During the discussion of the Forum’s summary the representatives of state authorities outlined steps aimed at support of Ukrainian agricultural engineering.
