KEY FACTORS FOR BEARINGS SELECTION.
  • When choosing bearing for the machine’s unit you should take into account the value and direction of load, its type, frequency of the rings rotation; required durability; operational environment; working temperature; specific requirements for the unit defined by the machine design and conditions of its operation.

  • To improve the compactness of bearing units and to reduce their weight (as well as the weight of machines and mechanisms in general) you should not overestimate lifetime of bearings, as a rule, higher than the calculated one. In addition, the friction moments, energy losses and limit rapidity of the bearings of heavier series are less favorable.

  • To select type and size of the bearing, you should calculate the equivalent load (for the given radial and axial loads) as the load, providing at the given speed the same durability of the bearing as at operating conditions. Durability of the bearing is determined based on the contact endurance of the bearing working surfaces. It is generally impossible to calculate if the bearing will brake down for some reasons not related to contact fatigue.
